Who is eligible for an award?
Any artist, producer, or creator who is shaping culture from the ground up is eligible for an award. We celebrate creativity, consistency, and impact regardless of label status.
How are winners selected?
Winners are selected through a hybrid voting model: 30% fan votes and 70% expert panel evaluation. This ensures fair, balanced recognition combining popularity with professional assessment.
How can I apply?
Submit your entry with supporting materials and the application fee. Visit the "How to Apply" section below for detailed requirements and fee structure.
When are the ceremonies held?
AFRKEY Awards are held twice a year — in July (Mid-Year Edition) and January (Year-End Edition). Each ceremony celebrates the best releases and achievements from the preceding season.
When can I apply for nominations?
Applications open during the first 4 months of each season. For the July ceremony: apply March–June. For the January ceremony: apply September–December. Early submission is encouraged.
Is my submission secure?
Absolutely. All submissions are handled with strict confidentiality. Your music, data, and personal information are protected throughout the evaluation process.
